International Representatives

International Representatives

Choosing to come to study in the UK is one of the most important decisions you can make, and our International Team is here to provide you with support throughout your application process. You may also consider using the services of an education agent when applying to us.

Education agents, provide a range of support services, from identifying the right university and course to guiding you through the application and enrolment process. They can also assist with visa applications, travel, and accommodation arrangements.

Our representative agents have been carefully selected and are official Royal Holloway representatives. They have been provided with information and guidance on our courses and entry requirements as well as the wider University and our Egham and London Campuses. They can advise you throughout your application journey and can help you make an informed decision about studying with us.

Please note if you reside outside the United Kingdom, EU, EEA, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, you can apply via our trusted partner Study Group and their agent network. More information about this can be found on the following pages on our website and Study Group’s.

Royal Holloway, University of London pays commission to agents if you enrol at our institution after using their services. Your chances of being accepted for a course are not affected if you use the services of an agent.

Please note that some agents charge students a counselling fee and we strongly recommend that you clarify all costs with your agent in advance. You should also check whether an agent is authorised to represent the Royal Holloway. Our agents sometimes work with other agents (often referred to as sub-agents). We do not have contracts with sub-agents and cannot offer them the same level of assistance.

Royal Holloway & The AQF

Royal Holloway is committed to the UK Agent Quality Framework and as such pledge to create an maintain the highest standards of agent management, ensuring the UK remains a leading study destination for international students.

If you are considering using an education agent, we recommend reading the student and parent guide to choosing an education agent — an important part of the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF). The guide also links to ‘The national code of ethical practice for UK education agents’ and the British Council’s UK database of certified counsellors.

The AQF was developed following research with international students, education providers, and international recruitment agents, and in collaboration with sector partners. It's four key principals are:

  • Empowering student choice and enabling informed decision making.
  • Ensuring good agent governance and professionalism.
  • Promoting ethical agent practices, professional knowledge and competency.
  • Increasing transparency and accountability.

Your chosen agent should:

  • Always be honest when sharing information about the University with you, and should not provide false or misleading information.
  • Act in your best interests at all times.
  • Always respect your decisions.
  • Provide you with accurate and up-to-date information at all stages of the application process so you can make informed choices.
  • Be clear with you at the start of the process if they will charge you any fees and what they are for.

For our contracted education agents, please get in touch with our trusted partner, Study Group. For all other agents residing in the United Kingdom, EU, EEA, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, please find a list of our current partners below:

Complaining About Your Experience With An Agent

If you need to make a complaint in the first instance, we would recommend you complain to the agent themselves, but if you are not satisfied with the response, or feel unable to do this, you can contact us.

Likewise, if you think your experience has been below what you should expect, and you have had no success complaining to your agent, you can complain to the University. Please send an email with details of your complaint and any evidence you might have to international@rhul.ac.uk

We will acknowledge your email within five working days. We will never share your details with the agent unless you ask us to. If appropriate, we will follow up with the agent and take action against them. We may not be able to share the outcome with you due to data protection but will share what we can.
