Open Day top tips

Not only will you get a taste of the course content, but you’ll also see how teaching at university differs from school or college. You don't need to have chosen your course yet. Attend multiple subject sessions, speak to academic staff and explore different subjects to find the right fit for you.

Find out more about life beyond the lecture theatre. We run talks covering different areas of student life, from wellbeing and support to careers, study abroad and accommodation.

We’re biased, but we think our campus is pretty special. See for yourself on a campus tour with one of our brilliant student ambassadors. They'll show you the spaces where you'll study and relax, from the impressive Grade-I listed Founder's Building to the modern library in the Emily Wilding Davison Building. Tours run throughout the day so you can fit one in between talks.

If you're interested in studying in London, you'll be able to explore the historic buildings that make up our central London campus, including the iconic Senate House and our newly updated spaces in Stewart House.

At Open Days you can take a look inside some of our halls and start imagining what living on our Egham campus could be like. You'll be able to explore different options and find out more about choosing your accommodation.

Wondering about student finance or scholarships? Want to know about part-time jobs, careers support or applying to university? Our specialist teams, including careers, funding, admissions and student support, will be on hand to answer your questions.

Open Days are also a great opportunity to chat to current students. Want to know what student life is really like, which societies to join, or where to find the best coffee on campus? They’re the best people to talk to about what it’s really like to study at Royal Holloway.  

Some things are hard to judge online or in a prospectus. Visiting in person means you can experience the atmosphere for yourself and get a real sense of what it's like to be part of our community.

There’s no need to plan every minute, but it’s a good idea to pick out the things you really don’t want to miss so you know roughly where to start when you arrive.

It’s a busy day, so take time for a break and have something to eat or drink at one of our cafés. You and your guests can enjoy a free hot drink too. If you're visiting our central London campus, there are plenty of places to relax in the nearby area or in Senate House.
