The cost of your Will is covered by Royal Holloway University of London, up to £150 - so you can write a simple Will for free or get a Will with trust at a discounted rate. The complimentary Will-Writing service we offer, provides you the opportunity to write your Will today. Once submitted, the online Will is then checked by Octopus Legacy's legal experts. It then needs to be printed and signed by you and two independent witnesses to be legally binding.
You may choose to include a donation to Royal Holloway in your Will, but there is no obligation to do so to use the service.

A note on leaving a gift
Leaving a gift to Royal Holloway, no matter the size, will enable you to leave a lasting legacy. Of course, there is no requirement, and the choice is always yours.

How does writing an online Will work?
Once you input your details and intentions, your online Will is created by Octopus Legacy’s solicitor-approved system. The Will is then checked by their expert team and returned to you with instructions on how to sign it properly.
Is my online Will really free?
Using the coupon code RHwill enables you to create your Will free of charge. Many of our supporters choose to leave a donation in their Will to Royal Holloway. However, there is no obligation to do so if you wish to use this service.
If you need to change or amend your online Will, Octopus Legacy offers free unlimited changes as part of their annual subscription service. This is free for the first year and then £10 per year afterwards. You can opt out at any time and this is all explained when you come to complete your Will. You will not be charged when you complete your Will.

I already have a Will, but it is out of date, can I use this service to update it?
If your Will needs updating, you can re-write it online with a new Will to ensure it is up-to-date and current.
If you would prefer to amend your current Will, you can call the Octopus Legacy team on 0800 773 4014 and they will be able to arrange an appointment for you to make any amendments over the phone or in person with one of their solicitors.
Does Octopus Legacy share my Will with Royal Holloway?
No, Royal Holloway will not receive a copy of your Will, nor will we be informed of its contents. We will only be informed of any donation to Royal Holloway if you give your consent to share it with us.
You will be asked at the end of the process whether you are happy to share your name, email and address with Royal Holloway. If you are, we will be in touch to thank you for your gift.
