Recent graduate Aminah has enjoyed an unforgettable summer after being selected as a Rising Host for London Spirit at Lord’s Cricket Ground as part of The Hundred.

The Rising Host initiative, created by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), is designed to provide opportunities for aspiring sports presenters to gain hands-on experience within The Hundred cricket tournament. The programme has helped launch the careers of many young talents who are passionate about engaging live audiences and building the electric atmosphere that makes sport so special.
For Aminah, the moment she found out was one she’ll never forget:
“I burst into tears — happy tears! I was so shocked. I had convinced myself that I didn’t get the role, so when the call finally came through, it totally caught me off guard. It was such an overwhelming moment in the best possible way — it felt surreal, and I was filled with so much gratitude and excitement. I remember every word from that phone call — it’s etched in my memory. It truly was the most incredible way to end the week, and the beginning of something really special.”
Since then, Aminah has embraced every moment of her new role.
“The experience has been unbelievable. Being the Rising Host for London Spirit at such an iconic venue feels like a dream I never thought I’d actually be living. I used to watch the Rising Hosts from the stands and imagine what it would be like, never thinking I’d actually get the chance to be one myself. From day one, I was welcomed by the most amazing team who are full of such warm and unwavering support. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with — their energy and encouragement have meant the world to me.
One of the biggest highlights has been connecting with the fans. The atmosphere in the stands has been electric, and the support from the crowd is something I’ll always cherish. The smiles, cheers, and conversations have all reminded me why I love doing what I do. Meeting so many wonderful individuals, both behind the scenes and in the audience, has been a huge privilege. I am beyond grateful for every single moment.”
Standing centre stage, microphone in hand, and connecting with thousands of fans has only deepened Aminah’s passion for live sport and presenting.
“Standing in front of thousands, mic in hand, and feeding off the energy of a live crowd is an experience I definitely want more of. It’s shown me how much I love being at the heart of live sport, engaging with fans, and building atmosphere. I am beyond excited to explore what’s next across the sporting world. This opportunity has opened my eyes to how powerful live presenting can be, and I’m so ready to take that momentum forward.”
Congratulations Aminah!
