Anthony Carey is an experienced higher education governance professional. He has held Council and committee leadership roles at Cranfield University, the Higher Education Academy, and Lancaster University, where he is Deputy Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. He has a longstanding association with Royal Holloway as an Honorary Visiting Professor and member of the Business School’s International Advisory Board.
A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Director, Anthony is Senior Adviser (Board Practice and Public Policy) at Forvis Mazars, where he was previously a partner. He also holds voluntary non-executive roles, including Trustee and Chair of the Investment Committee at the Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology and Treasurer and Trustee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
